Shannon Brown currently serves as a Product Specialist in Meridium’s U.S. headquarters with experience in Development, Sales, Client Services, and Training. He has worked with energy companies worldwide to map Meridium’s solution to their asset performance management needs. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University.
 

James Bumpas
Meridium
James Bumpas, CMRP, Black Belt, Meridium Project Director. James Bumpas is a RCM2 Certified Facilitator with more than 17 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance. He has facilitated multiple RCM analyses in various industrial environments, leading to the identification and implementation of proper preventive maintenance strategies for equipment in a PSM safety environment. James, also a certified Six Sigma Green and Black Belt, worked with DuPont from 1999 to 2006. During that time, he served in multiple maintenance roles ranging from Electrical Systems Specialist to Reliability Engineer for Electrical and Instrumentation. He also led multiple Six Sigma Black projects ranging from reliability improvement initiatives to supply chain management processes.
 

Conrad Clark
Meridium
Conrad Clark retired from Chevron in 2004 where he worked as a Project Engineer, in Project Management for the Instrument and Electrical Engineering Group and served on the corporate SIS advisory committee. His projects consisted of major plant control systems and Safety Instrumented Systems. While employed with Chevron, Conrad was also responsible for development of flow measurement software utilized by engineering and was ultimately awarded Chevron’s highest honor, the Chairman’s Award, for his work. Conrad was also involved with the installation of Meridium at Chevron for instrument and electrical equipment. In this capacity, Conrad worked as an advisor for the current Instrumentation/Calibration module. Currently Conrad works in Meridium’s Consulting Group and is available to work with clients for their instrumentation, calibration, and SIS requirements. He is also involved with development of Meridium’s PCS configuration and advisor for the development of our Safety Instrumented Systems module.

He has qualifications in engineering and business administration.
 

Clint Davis

Clint's main role is to create customer specific functionality, allowing Meridium to adopt specific customer workflows. He has deep knowledge in the areas of Interface Manager, Oracle, SQL Server and the Dexterra software for handheld applications. Prior to joining Meridium in September 1999, Clint was a software developer for GE Financial Assurance where he developed a remote dial-up system to help insurance agents get up to date information on their clients. Clint is a 1997 Computer and Information Systems graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth.
 

Chris DeFalco
Meridium
Chris DeFalco has more than 18 years of experience in reliability engineering and the implementation of APM software solutions. He has provided a range of services for Meridium customers such as project management, consulting, and training. Chris has wide-ranging knowledge of APM work processes and technical solutions. In his current role as a Product Manager, this experience and knowledge help him to successfully direct and integrate product solutions to meet customer needs. Chris' previous experience includes various engineering positions with major corporations in both the process and manufacturing industries. During this time he was responsible for the implementation of reliability improvements, failure analysis systems, expert diagnostic systems, and the leadership of condition-based maintenance and RCM programs. Chris holds a B.S. Mechanical Engineering from Grove City College (PA, USA).
 

Jaco  du Preez

Jaco du Preez is an enterprise applications architect at the PBMR (Pebble Bed Modular Reactor) (Pty) Limited. Jaco holds a B.S. in Computer Systems Engineering and a Masters Degree in Information Technology from the University of Pretoria, South Africa. Jaco has worked in the mining resources field as well as in the financial, military, and engineering research and development industries. Prior to joining the PBMR, he was a software engineer at various military institutions in South Africa. Recently, he published a chapter in the Handbook of Research on Open Source Software regarding an Emerging Business Model.
 

Kahn Ellis

Kahn is a Senior Partner and Chief Operations Officer with Vesta Partners. He leads all consulting services provided by Vesta and is focused on helping customers improve maintenance and asset management. In addition, Kahn delivers maintenance education and value assessments to Vesta's customers. As a recognized expert in maintenance and reliability, he is a frequently featured speaker at industry events and seminars. He is a CPMM(Certified Plant Maintenance Manager) and a CMRP (Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional). Prior to joining Vesta, he was with SAP, serving as lead solution manager for Enterprise Asset Management in North America. After working directly for SAP for 8 years in various roles associated with maintenance management, he is an expert in making companies successful using SAP for EAM. Prior to joining SAP, he worked for more than 10 years in various roles as an engineering project manger, maintenance supervisor and mechanic.
 

Ken Gottselig

Ken Gottselig is a Senior Engineering Advisor in the Specialty Engineering Department at LyondellBasell Industries. He holds two degrees: an M.S. in Industrial Systems Engineering from the University of Regina and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan (Canada). He has more than 25 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, research, design and corporate engineering. Since 1988, he has worked in the refining and petrochemical industry with Syncrude Canada Ltd. in Fort McMurray, Alberta, and, most recently, with Flint Hills Resources in Corpus Christi, TX. Since 2000, he has worked for LyondellBasell Industries at the Channelview, Texas facility in the Specialty Engineering - Stationary Equipment group with a focus on fitness-for-service assessments of service damaged pressure equipment, risk based inspection and the Meridium software. He is a member of the Joint ASME / API Committee on Fitness for Service, the Vice Chairman of the API RBI Users Group on Risk Based Inspection and the Chairman of the API 581 Group on Risk Based Inspection. Ken is a Registered Professional Engineer in the state of Texas and in the province of Alberta, Canada.

Bonz Hart, President and Founder, started Meridium in 1993 with a vision of helping the world’s asset intensive industries improve availability and reduce incidents through effective asset performance management. To help meet customer needs worldwide, he leverages years of experience in industry, working for industrial software companies, consulting to Fortune 500 companies, being part of the new company startup management teams, and developing innovative software while at DuPont.
 

John Hawkins
PPG Industries
John Hawkins is the Superintendent of Process Reliability and Stores at PPG Industries' Lake Charles, Louisiana facility. He has more than 30 years experience in the rotating equipment and predictive technologies field. As a member of the ASME, John served for six years on the Pressure Relief Devices Performance Test Codes Committee 25. He is also a member of the Vibration Institute where he has served for the past 20 years as an officer for the local chapter. As the PPG Meridium Project Manager, John is responsible for implementation at PPG's largest chemical's site located in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He is also responsible for promoting the use of the application at other PPG Chemical's sites with the implementation goal of having one database with basically the same configuration at all sites. He is actively working with the second largest site today to implement the same functionality that has been very successfully utilized in Lake Charles.
 

Rick  Hellner

Rick has more than 31 years of experience in the field of metallurgical, including extensive experience in failure, materials selection, welding engineering, condition assessment, and corrosion. His current responsibilities with Xcel include failure analysis, welding repair analysis and procedure development and qualification, welding manual maintenance, and component condition assessment, as well as metallurgical engineering support including materials selection. Rick specializes in metallurgy, including extensive experience in failure, materials selection, welding engineering, life assessment, and corrosion. Rick holds a B.S. in Metallurgical Engineering Technology.
 

Gary  Johnston

Gary Johnston is Vice President for Channel Solutions, and he joined Meridium from SAP America where he was solutions principal for the public services, utilities and telecommunications and discrete manufacturing sectors. He was responsible for defining and implementing solution strategies for the Supply Chain Management and Project Lifecycle Management solutions in the industries he served. Prior to joining SAP, Mr. Johnston spent more than 10 years in the manufacturing industry, assisting company turnarounds based on advanced manufacturing and supply chain management techniques. He holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and Management from Oklahoma State University.

Keith Lapeyrouse

Keith Lapeyrouse is a reliability engineer working on Dow’s project to integrate Meridium Asset Performance Management software with Dow’s Maintenance Work Management software and its existing work processes. He has worked within the petrochemical business in inspection, maintenance, reliability, project and consulting engineering functions for the past 29 years. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Louisiana and has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a M.S. in Engineering Science.
 

Louis Miller

Louis R. Miller, PE, is a Senior Refining Engineer for Marathon's Catlettsburg Refinery located near Ashland, Kentucky. During the past 17 years, he has been involved with refinery construction, turnaround planning, maintenance reliability and mechanical integrity. Louis has a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri and is a registered professional engineer in Missouri and Kentucky.
 

John Mitchell

Building on more than 40 years of experience in maintenance and reliability, John is currently a Value Advocate in Meridium's Value Realization group. He is an authority in the fields of asset and reliability management, machinery monitoring and analysis. John has served as a maintenance engineer, engineering supervisor, corporate executive and industry consultant. In addition to the books “Physical Asset Management Handbook” and “An Introduction to Machinery Monitoring and Analysis,” John has authored more than 100 technical papers and articles and has delivered numerous presentations and workshops worldwide. John was site manager for Fluor Corporation at a large petrochemical facility, vice president of maintenance operations & engineering for ABB, Inc., as well as founder and president of both MIMOSA, Inc. and Palomar Technology International, Inc. He is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.
 

Mark Mitchell
Eastman Chemical
Mark Mitchell, PE, CMRP is a leader in Eastman Chemical Company's Reliability Organization. He has nearly 20 years with Eastman, with the last 14 years being in the Reliability field. During his years in Reliability, Mark has become an expert in the field of Predictive Technologies, both from a hands-on and management standpoint. Until recently, he managed the Reliability Engineering Organization and the Rotating Equipment Group (consisting of Vibration Monitoring, Lube Analysis, Infrared Thermography, Motor Analysis and Machinery Analysis). His current title is Reliability Based Operations & Maintenance (RBOM) Program Manager, with areas of focus including M&R measures development and the implementation of Reliability Based Operations and Maintenance techniques. Mark holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kentucky. He is a certified and practicing Six Sigma Green Belt, holds a Professional Engineer's License in Tennessee and is a Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional with SMRP.
 

Scott Myers

Scott Myers has over fifteen years of experience working with maintenance and reliability systems. Most of that time has been with Flint Hills Resources, a privately-held refining and petrochemical company. Scott first started working with Meridium in 1998, where he was instrumental in the effort to implement Meridium V2. Since then, he has provided Meridium support and led the development of a number of custom applications that interface with Meridium. For the past two years, Scott has been involved in an enterprise-wide Maximo implementation and the rollout of Meridium to newly acquired Flint Hills facilities. He is currently leading the effort to upgrade Flint Hills to Meridium V3 and deploy it as a centralized, enterprise-wide implementation.
 

Joe Nichols

Joe Nichols has worked at Meridium for more than 11 years in both technical and functional capacities. Throughout his tenure at Meridium, he has served in a variety of roles, from Product Management, Sales and Marketing, Client Services, Training and Quality Assurance. Early in his career, he was involved in the implementation of Meridium at many client sites and has extensive knowledge regarding the implementation of Meridium's work processes to solve clients' problems. In his current role as Product Manager, he oversees Meridium's entire product line and ensures that product capabilities meet customer needs. Joe graduated in 1995 from Radford University with a degree in Information Systems (BBA) and a minor in Computer Science.
 

Michael Nichols

Michael O. Nichols is the Inspection Supervisor for Marathon's Catlettsburg Refinery located near Ashland, Kentucky. Mike has been associated with fixed equipment inspection for the past 31 years. His experience includes mechanical integrity, non destructive testing, and QA/QC of all types of refinery equipment and piping, as well as numerous reliability projects. Mike's inspection certifications include, the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessels, API 510/570, and AWS Certified Welding Inspector.
 

Rick O'Hara

Rick O’Hara spent 30 years in petrochemical manufacturing with a world class multi-national chemical company, and has substantial management experience in Maintenance, Operations, and Safety. This includes 10 years of global assignments for the maintenance function, including project manager for a corporate CMMS implementation. Rick's experience also includes work process development and implementation, including metrics and benchmarking internally as well as externally. Rick is a certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt with experience in Design for Six Sigma as well as the MAIC process, and has coached more than 70 maintenance improvement projects.
 

Wayne  Reed

Wayne is an asset management business architect who has worked in business management and consulting in manufacturing and process industries for his entire career. He has more than 30 years of hands-on experience in engineering, operations, maintenance, management and business consulting in capacities ranging from artisan (technician) to maintenance manager in field / industry positions through to principal consultant in the consulting arena. For the last ten years, Wayne has consulted, crafted and then supported the implementation of asset management change initiatives globally across all industry sectors. Wayne is currently SKF's Manager for Asset Management Knowledge and Innovation and is responsible for ensuring that the Asset Management Services (AMS) organization of SKF Reliability Systems retains and preserves existing knowledge and maximizes the value it achieves through one of its most important assets - knowledge. Wayne is a published author, frequent speaker at international events globally, a teacher (globally and internally) for SKF and externally and a coach for his clients. Wayne is currently completing a M.Sc. in Asset Management and is an active member of the Institute of Asset Management (IAM).
 

John Renick

John Renick is a Product Manager for Meridium, Inc. He has over 10 years of experience working with companies in process, power, mining and discrete manufacturing industries to implement and improve their asset performance management initiatives. Prior to serving as Product Manager John filled a variety of roles at Meridium including Consultant, and Trainer. John has worked closely with customers to ensure successful implementations with a high ROI. He also has conducted training for entire organizations in the use of Meridium. In his current role John is responsible for Meridium’s Asset Performance Management framework and for Mobile solutions. John graduated in 1992 from Radford University with a degree in Marketing and a minor in Economics.
 

Clark Sterner

Clark Sterner is currently a reliability engineer, and has worked for The Dow Chemical Company for the past 19 years. Having experiences in site logistics, human resources, analytical services, and maintenance, he is now actively involved in data preparation and work process improvement efforts with Dow’s project team to implement Meridium’s Asset Performance Management application. A graduate from the University of Pittsburgh with a BS in Chemical Engineering, and a certified Six Sigma Black Belt, Clark currently resides and enjoys urban living in Houston, Texas.
 

Dwayne Stover

Dwayne is a Project Director from the Meridium Dubai, UAE office. He has been with Meridium since 1998. He received his B.S. in Finance from Radford University in 1990 and his MBA from Averett University in 1996. Currently, he manages projects at SABIC (KSA), Saudi Chemical (KSA), BAPCO (Bahrain), Qatar Gas (Qatar), RasGas (Qatar) and Qatar Chemical (Qatar).
 

Pierre Swart
Sasol Synfuels
Pierre Swart is an engineer at Sasol Synfuels with close to 12 years of work experience, including engineering and business process development, implementation and governance. His previous employment includes Eskom, South Africa’s power utility. Pierre’s experience in the engineering field includes boiler-pressure part and high-pressure pipe work engineering and maintenance. At Sasol Synfuels, he developed, implemented, and facilitates the Risk Based Inspection process. Pierre is also the owner of the equipment maintenance strategy business process (based on RCM principals) and governs its integration with other business processes. Pierre’s inputs have been instrumental to the recommendations of the South African Vessel Under Pressure sub-committee for Risk Based Inspection, and he has been requested to share his knowledge on RBI and equipment maintenance strategies with other South African companies through conferences and benchmarking meetings. Pierre is a member of the South African Institute of Mechanical Engineers and is also registered as a professional engineer at the Engineering Council of South Africa. He holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Pretoria (South Africa), and a Management Diploma and an M.B.A. from the University of South Africa.
 

Roy Whitt

Roy is Vice President of the Value Realization Group at Meridium. His 30-year career in the refining industry, most recently with Marathon Petroleum Company, included various positions in operations, engineering and management. He managed a 220,000 bpd refinery and held roles as manager of refining engineering and vice president of business operations. Roy has served on the API General Refining and Operating Practices Advisory Committees and NPRA’s Manufacturing Committee. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Kentucky and a member of AIChE. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (New York, USA) and an MBA from Morehead State University (Kentucky, USA). He is a graduate of the Ashland Management Development program at Indiana University and the Executive Program of the University of Michigan’s Business School.
